The piles of stones in the sunny herb beds are real reptile castles. Built from local stone, they offer the animals sunny places, safe hiding places and frost-free wintering options. Lizards are useful, but unfortunately have become rare in gardens - there is usually a lack of habitat. Our castles create exactly that: a home for local reptiles and a contribution to preserving biodiversity.

Lizards are cold-blooded animals. Their body temperature depends on the ambient temperature; they need the warming power of the sun in order to be able to move quickly and agilely. In extreme heat or cold they go into a state of rigidity.
